Berlin Tours 2

The legacy of Berlin was forever altered during the years 1933 – 1945 when it served as the
Nazi capital. With vicious street violence and sophisticated propaganda, the Nazis conquered the
cosmopolitan capital of the Weimar Republic with its buzzing liberal, artistic, and communist
influences. Hitler transformed it into the centerpiece of his future empire and into the headquarters
for the massive war effort that would terrorize Europe. Our tour of Nazi Berlin brings you close to
the massive personalities, the crucial places and the imposing buildings that symbolized the Nazi
regime. Recommended tour duration: 3-4 hours.

  Selected Highlights:
  • The Reichstag, the parliament building where the event of a massive fire on February 27,
1933 enabled Hitler to attain the emergency powers that propelled him towards a dictatorship.

  • Goebbel's Propaganda Ministry, a building nearly unscathed by allied bombing where Hitler’s adoring sidekick directed
public opinion using the most modern technology.

  • Hitler's Chancellery, the massive structure complete with an ‘Honor Gallery’ twice the length of the Hall of Mirrors in the
Versailles Palace, intended to herald a 1000 year empire.

  • Görings Air Ministry, the imposing command center from which the Luftwaffe wreaked havoc on European cities. It also
remained intact, nearly untouched by allied bombing and Soviet shelling. The legacy of Göring, the “prince of the Nazi state,”
remains a glaring physical presence in Berlin.

  • The Humboldt University, where academics conspired with the Nazi state, removing Jewish colleagues and contributing
scientific know-how to Hitler’s plans for colonial enslavement of the ‘sub-human’ peoples of the East.

  • The Rosenstrasse Protest, the sole civilian protest against the Nazi deportation of the Jewish population.
How and why did this fascinating event occur and why was it ultimately succesful?

  • Führerbunker, Hitler’s labyrinthine bunker system where he spent his final weeks. Hear the stories of Hitler’s final delusional
hopes of victory, his meltdown and 11th hour marriage to Eva Braun, and the conspiracies regarding his remains.

  ...and much more!
