» Berlin - The Grand Tour

See the whole city in one day! We stroll, drive and eat our way through the town. Experience, enjoy and learn about the best of Berlin!
We present the city to you like a delicious three course meal - with a seasoned guide as your personal chef! We will introduce you to East, Middle and West Berlin in combination with a champagne reception, lunch, two coffee breaks, supper and finally, if you wish, a few beers, glasses of wine or cocktails to round off an unforgettable event! Our relaxing stops will take place in distinguished gourmet restaurants and tasteful, charming cafés. Don't worry about walking for too long: we'll have enough sit-down and driving breaks.
East Berlin: We move from Berlin's origins in the times of free and proud medieval merchants, menaced by robber barons, through the splendor of the prussian kings' residence area with the famous "Isle of the Museums", to the fine grace of the romantic town, the pomp of the emperor's industrial capital, the still dazzling sites of the "roaring twenties", the overpowering atmosphere of Hitler’s "World Capital Germania", the imposing grey buildings of the communist east, and - finally - the new heart of glitzy post-wall Berlin including the government buildings of the "republic of Berlin".
Berlin West: After enjoying a relaxing meal we'll take an S-bahn-ride offering lovely views to the centre of West-Berlin, where we’ll walk past the famous department store KaDeWe towards the iconic Memorial Church and the "Ku'damm" with its many chic boutiques. We’ll treat ourselves to a cup of coffee sitting under trees around a splashing fountain at the most Parisian corner of our German capital before heading for the wonderful palace and garden of Charlottenburg, promenading through green squares full of cafés and restaurants. Another short ride will take us close to the royal home, where we’ll wander through baroque and English greenery past romantic lakes, and then ride again towards the "barn quarter" with the uniquely romantic landscape of Berlin’s many canals and industrial harbours drifting by. We'll stand in front of the impressive synagogue in the ancient Jewish quarter, and let ourselves be carried by the stream of ramblers to the spectacular "Hackesche Höfe", a colourful suite of courtyards, from which we’ll continue down a trendy shopping street to our evening meal.
Berlin Mitte: Want more? After dinner we would be happy to guide you through the cosy alleyways of the barn quarter with their many art galleries, cafés, restaurants and historic buildings to find our last refuge in a classy pub on the banks of the glittering river Spree close to the "Palace of Tears" where people who visited their relatives in the East had to say good-bye. Prenzlauer Berg

Prenzlauer Berg has been the home of many artists, musicians and literary personalities. Today it is one of the most transformed areas of the re-united Germany. People live together here unfettered by popular prejudices about East and West Germans. The area was first settled in the second half of the 19th century, so a walk around includes all the important periods of Berlin's history - the Kaiser and the so-called 'golden twenties', the Nazi era and the Cold War. But most of all, this is a personal tour! Your tour guide will be an insider, a native German who is not only a skilled historian and storyteller but also has personally experienced daily life in the area for years. Some key sites are Kollwitzplatz, Schönhauserallee, the Kulturbrauerei, Ernst Thälmann Park, the Wall and many other corners, backyards and streets. Kreuzberg

Experience Kreuzberg, Berlin’s most renowned neighbourhood, for some the epitome of Berlin. Centre of local multicultural life, former combustion point in the May riots between police and „the self governed“, and „Little Istanbul“, the Mecca of Berliners from Turkish/Arab immigrant families. A place of rare idyllic scenes where Berlin is Berlin, more than anywhere else, where you can dangle your feet in the water and let your gaze wanders over romantic cityscapes. This is a part of the city where all and sundry eat and shop in an unbelievable variety of ways, and where you can climb the namesake hill, the Kreuzberg, for a grandiose view of Berlin from above. Charlottenburg: Palace and Garden

This tour will focus on “Schloß Charlottenburg”, one of the main residences of the Prussian kings in Berlin. The palace was built for Sophie Charlotte, the wife of elector Frederick III, the first Prussian ruler to crown himself “Frederick the First, King in Prussia”. By walking through the buildings and garden of the palace we will discover Prussian history through the New Pavilion, Belvedere, and the Island of Luise, named after the Prussian princess who became famous when she tried to convince Napoleon not to destroy her homeland.
